Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on January. 19. 1946, into a humble family of 12 children later on, realized early that she could get away from her hardships through a imaginative mind. Prior to learning how to read and write, Dolly Parton was creating her own songs. The guitar that she first received was presented by her mother when she was eight. She started singing at a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. That same year she made her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Even though she was still at school, she established a name for herself on the local scene. Her goal was to be able to perform at a much larger size. When she was graduating in 1964 she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time, was in search for a singer for his program. Parton began her career in the year 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 because her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached the top spot at No. Its first appearance at number 1 was in 1974.
