Lee Roy Selmon's existence is a combination of football scholarship, family service and community involvement. His first family is that he's the youngest out of the nine children raised by Eufala with Lucious Selmon. In football, he played alongside three brothers in Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's most effective lineman. During his three-year tenure as the starting quarterback for Oklahoma and Sooners' starting quarterback, they went 32-1-1 and captured two national titles. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975. He was also designated an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer hours per week during his time in college. Following college, he moved to Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers was the all-pro 3 times, and began his business career. The first job he had was a Account Relations Officer with First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. He was no surprise that the year 1982 was when The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of the ten outstanding young people across the nation. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265lbs during his time playing college football. In 1975, he was on the team. team. He joined University of South Florida in 1993 as the Associate Director of Sports. He has been inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma awarded it.
